Mark, born and raised in Bellevue, PA (a suburb of Pittsburgh), has been pastor of the Vine Fellowship Church (formerly First Presbyterian Church, Akron) for 23 years. A graduate of Westminster College (New Wilmington, PA) with a BA degree, Louisville Presbyterian Theological Seminary (KY) with a Master of Divinity degree, and McCormick Theological Seminary (Chicago, IL) with a Doctor of Ministry degree, he previously pastored churches in Titusville, PA and Butler, PA prior to coming to the Akron area.
He is married to Margaret (a teacher in the Akron Public Schools) for 34 years and they have two adult daughters – Rebecca, an Akron Public School teacher and Ashley, a recent graduate of Malone University.
Over the years, he has served on various committees and at various levels of the Presbyterian Church (USA) and on local community boards. He is a member of the Leadership Akron Class XV. Mark has also served the church through a variety of mission endeavors both in the states and abroad. Recently, he represented Eastminster Presbytery (of the Presbyterian Church, USA) on a mission trip to the country of Lebanon.
He loves to follow the Pittsburgh teams – Steelers, Pirates, and Penguins BUT his favorite American League baseball team is the Cleveland Indians.
